Interhogan City Fair Poem --a collective effort!

You In The Blue Light

You in the blue light
Beat your soul's desire out
Your sweat burns into tears
Feel the vibrations of rhythm
Your fingers hit the chord.
Slap your emotions in one stroke,
Caress the note to expression.
Caress me into your world.
Let your soul vibrate through me
Hit the note that sparks life,
Set a fire to my desire.
I take you and push it inside,
I burn in every note.
I melt into your music.
You in the blue light,
Beat out your imperfections.

 Excerpt...

So we'll go no more a roving
So late into the night
Though the heart be still as loving
And the moon be still as bright.
                 ~~Lord Byron

Prayer for Women

Dear Lord, I pray for wisdom to understand my man,
Love to forgive him, patience for his moods.  Because,
Lord, if I pray for STRENGTH, I'll beat him to death.
Amen       (Author Unknown) submitted by: Kermia

This Tiny Buttoned Dress

An escape can be made
Often this I've planned.
A dark river, its' jagged rock my only path.
I will know I am not dead
If these edges cut me as I cross.
I will smile,
To feel this pain that makes me live again.
        The river, she can heal.
        The stone, he can kill.
        The heart, she can climb.
        The reason, he can entwine.
In the moon-less night
My escape cannot wait.
Embrace the sister, River, where the restless leap.
Laying aside my hooded cloak
And this tiny-buttoned dress
No boundaries, no lines
Shivering, as she washes, constrictions from my mind.
        The river, she can heal.
        The stone, he can kill.
        The heart, she can climb.
        The reason, he can entwine.

WHO SAYS?

A winning smile
A wave
A cheer
A sneaky squint
A snear
An Apple can fall
But, who says that's all?
The future is never that clear.

Muse

Still water measured in moonlight glow
Hidden reflections of love untold
Enjoyed, but never, to touch or hold
Her light is soft, a floating song
Friends have oft, proclaimed her strong.
Oh muse, you, sing and speak
Creating gentle pools from tears you weep
They're bathed in light, true love's might.

And the music fades at last
Yet it echos forward in days yet past
Like ripples in the moon lit pond.

*I Am Woman*

the mind is quick

sharp like a tack

yet soft is the touch

open is the heart

sensitive to all

stronger than stone

vulnerable she trusts

wounded she cries

scarred she rages

firm she stands

loving deeply

sharing again

and so the wheel turns...

This poem was part of a contest where participants were required to use a word which was randomly drawn.  The selected word is in all caps just for reference. It was a fun experiment and although the "authors" are not recorded here they are most graciously thanked for their participation.  The contest was held in conjunction with the Interhogan City Fair and relates to that event!

The Poem, The Fair

Great excitement fills the air
As we hurriedly prepare
To host the Interhogan City Fair

A wonderous CAKE is already made
Dishes on the table laid
To party now, needs only your aid!

Thru the crowd SWAPPING expressions,
We gather much useful insight
from prior winners' bold suggestions.

As we REMEMBER their devotions
What joy we have as we bestow
on lovers there our trinkets and notions.

CATASTROPHE, if missed occasion!
No sim of this should ever lament
For we all needed this vacation.

The GAMES were played
Both winners and losers placed
But made successful with their smiles.

ALONE

Lonely and enraged
Something special to engage
Does she even exist?
My heart will always persist
Oh, how I wish it to occur
Heaven, take me to her.
Compassion would make her move
Never to have anything to prove.
This would be so special to me
My valiant search tells me, never to flee.

KEEPER

All across the china way,
Hearts are broken day by day.
Far beyond the greatest wall
Stolen souls that soon will fall.
Treasured lives sent on a quest
Proven to be the keepers best.
Passers-by don't dare to ask,
Why the knower wears his mask.
Hushed forever secrets fail
Like a spider they weave a tale.
Pushed beyond the limits known
The king forever takes his throne.

HUSH!

Hush! says the mother,
who cradles the babe who cries.

Hush! whispers the woman,
who kisses her lover's eyes.

Hush! quietly speaks the widow
to the son whose father dies.

Hush! says the Lord,
when his soul to the earth flies,
       and lives again!

My Soul Speaks

In the darkest of nights
When I am alone with my thoughts
My soul speaks to me..
The part of me that no one can see
or know is very clear.
I don't know the lines of your hands
Or the sweet creases of your face,
But I am drawn to your soul...
Like a magnet.
The words are louder than I could
Have ever imagined--yet
They seem so unreal, so impossible.
And I know you are there--under the moonlight
Looking up at the same sky, the same stars
With those eyes I may never see with my own.
For a reason, unknown to us,
We have traveled two separate paths,
That have somehow, someway..brought us together.
